Privacy Policy
The short version: Waylark collects no data. None. Every detour you finish, every note and photo you add, lives in a file on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no tracking — so there is nothing for this policy to excuse.
1 · Data we collect
None.
Waylark is an on-device app. Everything it remembers — the detours you complete and when, the optional notes and photos you attach, the vibes you chose, your difficulty and reminder settings, and the date you first opened the app — is stored in a file inside the app's own storage container on your iPhone (shared only with the app's own Home-Screen widgets on the same device). We have no server, so none of it is ever transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see your data; nobody can, unless they are holding your unlocked phone.
Accordingly, the app's App Store privacy nutrition label is “Data Not Collected.”
2 · No analytics, no tracking, no third parties
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no fingerprinting.
- No third-party SDKs of any kind — the app is built exclusively on Apple's own frameworks.
- No accounts, no email collection, no newsletters.
- The app makes no network requests of its own; the daily detour is chosen entirely on-device.
3 · Purchases
The optional upgrade, Waylark Pro (a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase), is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles payment, receipts, renewals, Family Sharing where applicable, and refunds under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your name, payment details, or Apple ID — the app only learns, on-device, whether Pro is currently unlocked.
4 · Notifications
The single optional daily reminder is a local notification: scheduled, stored, and delivered on your device by iOS at the time you choose. There is no push-notification server and no remote push. Its wording is generated on-device and contains no personal data.
5 · Photos & sharing
A detour can optionally carry a photo. Photos you attach are stored inside the app's own container; if you choose to save one to your Photo Library, the app only adds the image you selected — it never reads or scans your library.
When you share a detour as a card, the image is rendered on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet. It goes only where you send it — a message, a note, your own files. The app never uploads anything.
6 · Children's privacy
Waylark is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. Anything entered exists only on the device, under the owner's control, and is removed when the app is deleted.
7 · Data retention and deletion
You hold the only copy. Your route, completions, notes and settings persist on your device until you remove them in the app or delete the app itself. We retain nothing because we receive nothing. Deleting the app deletes your data.
8 · Changes to this policy
If a future version ever changes this picture — for example an optional, explicitly opt-in iCloud backup of your own data to your own iCloud account — this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the effective date above revised. The standing commitment does not change: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no selling or sharing of data, ever.
